Location: Remote Shift (EST): Monday–Friday or Sunday–Thursday; 1st or 2nd shift (flexible)
Pay: $24+ (DOE)
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Review, analyze, and assign accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes for outpatient medical records
Focus on outpatient surgery, wound care, and observation encounters
Assign diagnosis and procedure codes using coding guidelines and CAC systems
Apply appropriate modifiers and procedural categories
Ensure documentation supports scheduled and performed procedures
Maintain coding accuracy and productivity standards
Review coding work queues and collaborate with revenue cycle teams to resolve account issues within required timeframes
Qualifications & Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Experience with EPIC is required
Coding experience required
One or more certifications required: RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCA, CCS-P, CPC, CPC-H
AHIMA-accredited coding certificate preferred
Experience in multi-facility or remote coding environments preferred
Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS coding guidelines
Understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and surgical procedures
Knowledge of payer regulations and reimbursement systems
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and coding systems
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills
