Position: Outreach and Intervention Specialist

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, Full-Time, 10-months per year

Start Date: August 17, 2026

Pay: $27.01-$36.46 dependent on qualifications and based on the Non-Affiliated Handbook

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or a combination of education and related experience to total four years. Must have some experience working wth students.

  • Proven ability to work respectfully and responsively with diverse populations of youth and families, community members, health and human service providers, city and county government and educators.
  • Possess a strength-based, child/youth-family centered philosophy.

  • Proven ability to work in a diverse team environment
  • Ability to work independently and in a self-directed manner.

Responsibilties:

  • Outreach:

  • Promote and advance the district Equity Promise.

  • Serve as a liaison between the school and families and community.

  • Promote parental involvement in the schools.

  • Promote parental involvement with Open House, communication nights and other academic support events.

  • Assist families with the interpretation of school policies and procedures.

  • Conduct home visits, as needed.

  • Assist in the assessment of family needs.

  • Assist in the coordination and delivery of student induction efforts, including incoming-freshman summer programming.

  • Intervention:

  • Promote student social emotional development

  • Advocate for students with teachers, administration, deans and other school staff.

  • Assist in the assessment of student needs.

  • Assist deans and ISFs in the monitoring of academic progress for underperforming students.

  • Report all suspected incidents of child abuse, neglect, self-harm or threatening behaviors.

  • Student Management:

  • Promote regular school attendance.

  • Assist with general supervision between classes and during events.

  • Meet with students exhibiting poor attendance and determine appropriate action plans and/or consequences.

  • Coordinate the provision of work for students assigned to the TRY program.

  • Partnerships:

  • Conduct daily check-ins with the student support staff to identify students requiring attention and determine individual roles/responsibilities for student action plans.

  • Collaborate with supervisory paraprofessionals and clerical staff to ensure students are adhering to safety protocols and attendance procedures.

  • Attend Student Services PLC and Student Support Team meetings.

  • Collaborate with administration, the equity specialist and the liaisons in promoting an environment of cultural proficiency.

  • Meet regularly with administrators to share information and receive direction on meeting student needs.
