What We Offer

The City and County of Denver offers a competitive salary commensurate with education and experience. The hourly target hiring range for this position is $25.30 - $30. We also offer generous benefits for full-time employees which include but are not limited to:

Location

The City and County of Denver supports a hybrid workplace model. Employees work where needed, at a job site several days a week and off-site as needed. In this position you can expect to work out of the Denver Human Services Castro office at 1200 N Federal Blvd, Denver, CO 80204 on in office days (at least 3 days on-site and 2 from home). In office frequency will increase during the peak donation events. Employees must work within the state of Colorado on their off-site days.

The Engagement and Outreach Division at Denver Human Services is seeking an Outreach Case Coordinator II for the GIVE Donations Program. This program gathers essential donations for DHS and collaborates with the GIVE Center to deliver emergency resources to both the community and the broader agency.

The duties of the Outreach Case Coordinator II will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Responsible for the support and development of the GIVE Donations program
  • Supports with the development and maintenance of collaborative relationships with a variety of stakeholders
  • Triage and support donors by assessing needs, routing inquiries, and ensuring timely coordination with appropriate staff or services
  • Provide professional and respectful customer service to ensure strong working relationships with community-based organizations, individual donors and internal staff
  • Support with general knowledge of budget tracking and monitoring of all GIVE funds and donation contributions
  • Support in collecting and organizing data reports
  • Conducts outreach presentations and trainings for external providers, vendors, and community partner to raise awareness on the GIVE Donations program and CarePortal platform
  • Physically onsite according to business needs of the GIVE Donations Program, in-person meetings, community site visits, which can include evenings and/or weekends. Onsite frequency will increase during the peak donation events
  • Physically retrieving, sorting, counting, organizing, and distributing in-kind donations
  • Daily monitoring of multiple email inboxes as well as responding to all inquiries within the appropriate timeframe for each inbox
  • Triaging emails and redirecting requests received to the appropriate staff member as needed
  • Complete accurate data entry of monetary and in-kind donations into Donations Database
  • Oversee volunteer engagement and outreach initiatives, collaborating with community partners to support program goals and expand service capacity
  • Support scheduling and calendaring for annual donation event project plans, community engagement meetings, community partner site visits, and volunteer shifts
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Our ideal candidate has some or all the following experience, skills, and characteristics:

  • Currently possess a bachelor's in a Communications, Social Sciences, Hospitality, or a related field
  • Bilingual skills preferred but not required
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills with a customer-center focus and approach
  • Ability to set general goals and priorities for own work, carry out several assignments simultaneously, and complete assigned work on time
  • Experience in donation campaigns, including preparation, planning, and implementation of required logistics and volunteer support
  • Able to utilize the principles and practices of effective and persuasive communication to elicit information, negotiate problem resolution and/or garner support for various programs or policies
  • Takes initiative, exercises sound judgment, and manages tasks independently without the need for close guidance
  • Experience working with Workday and Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Teams
  • Interest in supporting individuals and families in emergent need of donated items and funds
  • Demonstrated ability to practice cultural competence while in a community-facing role
  • Experience handling conflict resolution & challenging situations with empathy
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs
  • Must have a Valid Driver's License and insurance

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate
  • Experience: Two (2) years of experience performing intake including assessing and identifying client strengths and needs and providing referrals for assistance
  • Education & Experience Equivalency: Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirement
  • Licensure & Certification: Requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application. Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment
