    Job Summary:

    The Outreach Specialist is responsible for developing and maintaining community relationships and referral pipelines that increase awareness of Goodwill’s programs, services, and workforce development opportunities. This position focuses on outreach, partnership development, and community engagement while helping connect individuals to training programs, employment pathways, and supportive services across the organization.

    Job Description

    Essential Functions

    Recruitment and Outreach

    • Supports outreach and partnership efforts to recruit prospective participants into Goodwill programs and services.
    • Builds and maintains relationships with community organizations, workforce agencies, educational institutions, and referral partners.
    • Develops and maintains referral pipelines through ongoing outreach and consistent follow-up with community partners.
    • Shares information about programs, eligibility requirements, enrollment processes, and available resources with prospective participants and partner organizations.
    • Conducts presentations and information sessions for community groups and referral partners.
    • Collaborates with Career Navigators and internal teams to support referrals, enrollment, and participant engagement.

    Data Tracking and Reporting

    • Tracks outreach activity, referrals, partner engagement, and event outcomes using CRM systems and other tracking tools.
    • Tracks and reports outreach effectiveness, referral conversion rates, and participant enrollment outcomes to support achievement of program enrollment goals.
    • Assists with reporting outreach data to support continuous improvement efforts.

    Diversity and Inclusion

    • Supports outreach efforts focused on underserved and underrepresented communities.
    • Builds relationships with organizations serving individuals facing barriers to employment, education, and career advancement.

    Community Engagement & Events

    • Organizes and participates in outreach events, resource fairs, presentations, and community engagement activities to promote Goodwill programs and services.
    • Represents Goodwill professionally in the community and helps strengthen relationships with participants, partners, and stakeholders.
    • Assists with planning and coordinating community outreach opportunities that support program awareness and recruitment efforts.
    • Collaborates with internal departments to support outreach initiatives and community partnerships.
    • Helps increase organizational visibility and awareness throughout the community.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Required Skills

    Education

    • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field, such as education, communications, marketing, or a related area.

    Experience

    • Two (2) years relevant experience required.
    • Previous experience in admissions, recruitment, or related roles is preferred.

    Knowledge / Skills

    • Current, valid driver’s license required.
    • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
    • Strong presentation and public speaking abilities.
    • Ability to build and maintain partnerships with community organizations, workforce agencies, educational institutions, and referral partners.
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple outreach efforts, events, and follow-up activities simultaneously.
    • Experience with CRM systems, databases, or tracking tools used for outreach, referrals, and relationship management.
    • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Customer-focused approach with the ability to engage individuals from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
    • Knowledge of workforce development programs, community resources, career pathways, or supportive services preferred.
    • Understanding of barriers to employment and education faced by underserved populations preferred.
    • Ability to analyze outreach and referral data to support continuous improvement and informed decision-making.
