The Staten Island Workforce1 Career Center is partnering with United Activities Unlimited (UAU) to find qualified candidates for an Outreach Specialist in Staten Island, NY. United Activities Unlimited (UAU) has been serving Staten Island and surrounding communities for more than four decades through a wide range of youth, family, and community-based programs. The organization provides afterschool programs, workforce development, family support services, educational enrichment, and prevention programs designed to create positive opportunities for individuals and families. UAU is committed to strengthening communities through outreach, engagement, and access to supportive services.
Position Overview:
The Outreach Specialist is responsible for engaging youth and adults throughout the community to educate, enroll, and register participants for UAU programs. This role builds relationships with community organizations, schools, and service providers while delivering presentations and conducting outreach activities. The Outreach Specialist also supports participant engagement, marketing initiatives, and social media efforts to increase awareness of UAU programs and services.
This position is located in Staten Island, NY.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement outreach plans to recruit and retain program participants.
Build relationships with schools, community organizations, and local partners.
Conduct community outreach, presentations, and participant registration activities.
Engage hard-to-reach youth and young adults and encourage program participation.
Maintain accurate outreach records and documentation in accordance with UAU and DYCD requirements.
Provide support, advocacy, and enrichment programming for youth and young adults.
Identify marketing opportunities and support social media and promotional efforts.
Follow all applicable safety protocols and organizational policies.
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED required.
Valid driver's license required.
Minimum of 1 year of experience working with adults.
Minimum of 1 year of community outreach experience.
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Strong verbal and written communication skills and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email, and social media platforms.
Must be willing to work flexible hours as needed and successfully complete required background and reference checks.
