We are hiring Outside Plant Technicians to install and maintain fiber-optic networks. This role involves aerial and underground drop installation, customer premise work, inside the home installation, and troubleshooting/repair of fiber services. Technicians work in the field daily and are expected to operate safely, efficiently, professionally, and independently or as part of a crew . Company is expanding into Essex County. Worksites vary. CDL A or CDl B required to operate some equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Install aerial and buried fiber drops from distribution case to customer premises
Perform customer installs, including ONT/Router setup, testing, and activation
Conduct troubleshooting and repair of fiber service issues
Ability to read and interpret maps and work orders
Communicate with supervisors, co-workers, and customers professionally
Document work completed and inventory
Qualifications
Experience in fiber installation, telecom, or utility work preferred
Ability to work at heights with ladders and bucket trucks or off hooks
Comfortable with working in all weather conditions
Valid drivers license
Basic understanding of hand tools and construction practices
Willingness to learn with on-the-job training
Work Environment
Field-based (residential streets, poles, easements, and customer homes)
Combination of aerial and underground work
On-Call is required
Fast-paced, production-based environment with high quality expectations
