Copper State Bolt & Nut Co. is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Outside Sales Representative to grow and maintain business within an assigned territory. This role is responsible for developing new customer relationships, expanding existing accounts, and serving as a trusted partner to contractors, manufacturers, fabricators, maintenance teams, and industrial customers.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers.
  • Generate new business through prospecting, networking, referrals, and jobsite visits.
  • Identify customer needs and recommend products and solutions that support their operations.
  • Conduct regular customer visits to strengthen partnerships and uncover sales opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Inside Sales, Operations, Purchasing, and Branch Leadership to ensure excellent customer service and execution.
  • Prepare and follow up on quotes, bids, and sales opportunities.
  • Promote Copper State products, inventory programs, value-added services, and vendor solutions.
  • Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and customer needs within the territory.
  • Maintain accurate customer information, activity records, and opportunity tracking.
  • Assist customers with account setup, credit applications, and payment-related issues when needed.
  • Participate in product training, sales meetings, and industry events.

What We're Looking For

  • 2+ years of outside sales, account management, business development, or industrial sales experience preferred.
  • Experience selling industrial, construction, manufacturing, fasteners, safety, electrical, MRO, or related products is a plus.
  • Proven ability to build relationships and develop new business.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Self-motivated with excellent time management and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and CRM/business systems.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent driving and customer visits throughout assigned territory.
  • Ability to lift and carry product samples or materials up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, and working on a computer.
