Technical Sales Manager — Graphic Arts & Composites
Applied Molecules · Draft Oct 9, 2026
Location: Remote, U.S. (Midwest or Southeast preferred), with travel to customers and to our Michigan plant and Florida lab
Type:Full-time
Applied Molecules is growing fast thanks to our excellent products and technology, and we are looking for an experienced technical salesperson to grow our UV, EB and LED curable business. You will sell our full line, with your main focus on graphic arts (labels and packaging) and composites (automotive, truck and industrial parts). If you know energy-curable chemistry, enjoy solving problems on a press or a production line, and want to build a territory with a technology-forward company, we want to talk to you.
About Applied Molecules
Applied Molecules is a privately owned, technology-forward maker of UV, EB and LED curable coatings, primers, adhesives and resins. Our tagline says what we do: Protect · Bond · Seal · Print.
•
Over 100 years of combined UV/EB experience across graphic arts, display, fiber optics, automotive pressure-sensitive adhesives, laminating adhesives and floor coatings, plus broad polymer chemistry for the CASE market (coatings, adhesives, sealants, elastomers).
•
A world-class CASE lab in Florida where we do customer and direct research to develop material solutions.
•
A manufacturing plant in Whitmore Lake, Michigan that makes our UV, EB and LED materials, from small batches to large volumes.
•
Markets: graphic arts, composites and transportation, 3D printing (Print Juice resins and Battle Bond adhesives) and custom material solutions.
•
Responsible chemistry: no PFAS, no heavy metals, low-VOC 99.99% solids graphic arts products, and TPO removed from our graphic arts line five years ago.
What you'll do
Graphic arts (labels and packaging)
• Sell UV, UV LED and EB overprint varnishes, coatings, primers and laminating adhesives to narrow web label printers, flexible packaging converters, and folding carton and corrugated printers.
• Lead conversations on LED curing, low- and no-migration packaging, barrier and tactile coatings, cold foil and inkjet coatings, and compliance topics such as GIO, Prop 65 and PFAS.
• Run press trials with customers and our lab, and turn successful trials into repeat business.
Composites and transportation
• Sell one-part, light-curable edge sealers, paint-pop primers and sealers, and fast UV LED repair fillers to automotive and heavy truck composite part makers (SMC, BMC, fiberglass, carbon fiber).
• Show plants how in-line UV LED repair improves first-pass yield and cuts scrap compared with two-part body fillers.
• Open doors for our energy-curable hotmelts and PSAs in automotive bonding.
Across the business
• Introduce customers to our 3D printing resins and adhesives and to custom development through our Florida lab.
• Build and manage a pipeline, forecast accurately and keep CRM records current.
• Work closely with our chemists and plant to scope projects, set up samples and solve technical problems.
• Represent Applied Molecules at trade shows such as LOUPE, CAMX and RadTech events.
• Bring market and competitor insight back to the team.
What you bring
Required
• 7+ years of B2B technical sales in specialty chemicals, coatings, adhesives or inks.
• Hands-on knowledge of UV, UV LED or EB curing, with a track record selling into graphic arts or composites (both is a strong plus).
• Comfort on a press floor or production line: running trials, reading results and talking with operators, plant managers and buyers alike.
• A proven record of opening new accounts and growing existing ones.
• Willingness to travel about 50% of the time.
Preferred
• Existing relationships with label, packaging or flexible packaging converters, or with automotive and truck composite molders.
• Familiarity with low-migration packaging.
What we offer
• Competitive base salary plus commission or bonus tied to growth.
• Health benefits, retirement plan and paid time off.
• Company vehicle or car allowance, phone and laptop.
• Direct access to our chemists, our Florida lab and our Michigan plant, so you can promise customers solutions and deliver them.
• A growing, privately owned company where your territory and ideas shape the business.
This is a remote position.
