Outside Sales Representative 
Location: Florida and/or Texas
Employment Type: Full-Time
Travel: Approximately 20%–50%
Pay: $65-70K + commission

Position Summary
Our client, a manufacturer of stainless steel cable and mesh systems, is seeking an Outside Sales Representative to develop business and support customers throughout Florida or Texas.
The company provides architectural systems used for fall protection, railing infill, rooftop enclosures, bridges, green walls, and zoo enclosures. Customers include architects, general contractors, landscapers, metal fabricators, installers, and government and transportation authorities.
This position reports to the President and manages projects from initial specification through installation.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary contact for customers within the assigned territory.
  • Prospect and develop new architects, contractors, fabricators, installers, and project opportunities.
  • Respond to questions involving pricing, availability, order status, product selection, and technical requirements.
  • Review construction drawings, project specifications, and installation requirements.
  • Prepare pricing estimates, presentations, and product recommendations.
  • Work with architects and specifiers to incorporate products into project designs.
  • Coordinate with installers and contractors to move projects from specification through completion.
  • Manage multiple projects involving different phases, products, and stakeholders.
  • Conduct cold and warm outreach to prospective customers.
  • Visit customers, project sites, and industry events throughout the territory.
  • Participate in trade shows, networking events, training, and customer presentations.
  • Resolve claims, product concerns, and installation-related issues.
  • Coordinate orders, samples, returns, exchanges, and marketing materials with Sales Support.
  • Work with Marketing, Production, Operations, and Sales Support to meet customer requirements.
  • Maintain accurate customer, opportunity, and project information in CRM and ERP systems.
  • Travel to the Addison, Illinois manufacturing facility as needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • At least three years of building-material, construction-product, or related outside-sales experience.
  • Experience in steel cable systems, architectural metals, fencing, panels, or metal fabrication is preferred.
  • Understanding of construction materials, building codes, and installation practices.
  • Ability to interpret architectural drawings, construction documents, and product specifications.
  • Experience developing new accounts and managing customer relationships.
  • Strong presentation, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Outlook.
  • AutoCAD experience.
  • Familiarity with CRM, ERP, ticketing, or customer-support systems.
  • Ability to manage changing priorities in a growing business.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 20%–50%, including occasional overnight, evening, or weekend travel.
