POSITION SUMMARY:This position will be responsible for prospecting and closing new business opportunities with new and existing customers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:- Identifies trendsetter ideas by researching industry and related events, publications, and announcements; participating in trade shows and conferences, and tracking individual contributors and their accomplishments.
- Locates or proposes potential business deals by contacting potential partners; discovering and exploring opportunities.
- Contact regular and prospective customers to demonstrate products, explain product features, and solicit orders.
- Recommend products to customers, based on customers' needs and interests.
- Answer customers' questions about products, prices, availability, product uses, and credit terms.
- Responsible for working with Engineering, Accounting, Materials, and Production to provide customer quotes, warranties, contract terms and delivery dates.
- Monitor market conditions, product innovations, and competitors' products, prices, and sales.
- Monitor customer preferences to determine focus of sales effort
- Collaborate with sales teams to understand customer requirements, to promote the sale of company products, and to provide sales support
- Screens potential business deals by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, potential, and financials; evaluating options; resolving internal priorities; recommending equity investments.
- Develops negotiating strategies and positions by studying integration of new venture with company strategies and operations; examining risks and potentials; estimating partners' needs and goals.
- Closes new business deals by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts; integrating contract requirements with business operations.
- Work with customers, suppliers and other SRC Automotive departments/employees to provide solutions for customer issues.
- Conduct and analyze customer, market, and competitor data for current and future sales trends and customer needs.
- Determine areas for sales growth, design and execute a plan to realize that growth.
- Will include approximately 25% travel schedule this may vary depending on departmental goals and objectives.
- Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:Work is performed mostly in a controlled atmosphere. Some exposure to harsh conditions for short periods of time is possible.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential function of this job. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and talk and hear. Sitting 80%, standing/walking 20%.Frequently lift and or move up to 20 pounds and 40 pounds occasionally.
SKILL/ KNOWLEDGE/ ABILITY/ EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:- Three (3) - Six (6) years of previous sales experience.
- Two (2) - Five (5) years of successful customer relations experience.
- Sales experience in automotive, industrial or/and marine is preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.High level of energy and motivation.
- Professionalism, self assured in a variety of settings.
- BS/BA in Business Administration, Marketing, Industrial Technology, or related discipline preferred.
- Requires effective relationship management skills with co-workers in a team environment and with customers in a sales and support context.
- Requires effective time management skills, personal conduct, and change management abilities.
- Requires the desire to expand personal competencies and capabilities through training and education.
- Computer literacy/experience required. Must be proficient in Windows environments. Working knowledge of word processing, PowerPoint, spreadsheets, and e-mail.
