Outside Sales Representative – Northeast Region

Confidential Client | Power Infrastructure & Critical Backup Systems Industry

Location: Remote – Northeast U.S.

Preferred Locations: Baltimore, MD; Philadelphia, PA; Northern New Jersey; New York Metro

Compensation: $80,000–$160,000+ (DOE) + Profit Sharing + Comprehensive Benefits

About the Opportunity

Our client is a well-established manufacturer and distributor serving critical infrastructure markets across North America. Their products support mission-critical facilities including telecommunications networks, data centers, utilities, emergency response systems, transportation infrastructure, and industrial operations.

Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Outside Sales Representative to manage and expand business throughout the Northeast region.

This is a relationship-focused sales role with a strong emphasis on consultative selling, territory development, and long-term account growth. The position offers significant autonomy and the opportunity to represent highly respected products in a stable and growing industry.

Responsibilities

Customer Relationship Management (60%)

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key decision-makers at existing and prospective accounts.
  • Identify opportunities to expand business within current customers while cultivating new accounts.
  • Conduct customer meetings, product demonstrations, lunch-and-learns, and technical presentations.
  • Develop customized solutions based on customer needs and operational requirements.
  • Prepare proposals, quotations, and sales documentation.
  • Maintain accurate account records, forecasts, and activity tracking.

Territory Growth & Business Development (30%)

  • Execute strategic territory plans to identify and win new business.
  • Research market opportunities and target accounts across multiple industries.
  • Generate leads through networking, prospecting, referrals, and industry relationships.
  • Develop partnerships with contractors, consultants, engineers, and end users.

Industry & Trade Show Engagement (10%)

  • Attend regional trade shows, conferences, and networking events.
  • Represent the company professionally within industry associations.
  • Gather market intelligence and competitive information.

Ideal Background

  • 5+ years of outside sales experience.
  • Experience selling into industrial, utility, telecommunications, infrastructure, electrical, backup power, power systems, or related technical markets.
  • Proven ability to develop new business and grow existing accounts.
  • Strong presentation, relationship-building, and consultative selling skills.
  • Self-starter capable of managing a large territory independently.
  • Comfortable working remotely and traveling throughout the region.
