Position Overview

\n

Modern Group is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Territory Manager to drive new business and grow existing customer relationships throughout Northern New Jersey. The position can be based out of our Edison or Hasbrouck Heights branches.

\n

\n

This is a B2B territory sales role focused on new customer acquisition, account growth, and providing customers with equipment and service solutions. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in outside sales and strong relationship-building skills, with experience in material handling, construction equipment, industrial equipment, rental, or a similar industry preferred.

Compensation

• Base salary starting at $65,000+, based on experience and expertise plus commission.

Key Responsibilities

\n

• \n
• Manage the full sales process for new and used material handling equipment, including forklifts, maintenance contracts, repairs, and planned maintenance (PM) programs
• \n
• Develop new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, referrals, and other sales activities
• \n
• Manage and grow existing customer accounts while developing long-term business relationships
• \n
• Identify customer needs and recommend equipment, service, and maintenance solutions
• \n
• Prepare and present product specifications, repair quotes, leasing proposals, and other sales materials
• \n
• Conduct regular customer visits throughout the assigned Northern NJ territory
• \n
• Follow up with customers throughout the sales cycle and resolve concerns to ensure customer satisfaction
• \n
• Collaborate with branch management, service, parts, and other departments to provide a seamless customer experience
• \n
• Maintain accurate customer records, sales activity, and documentation using Microsoft Office and company systems

Qualifications

\n

• \n
• 2+ years of B2B outside sales experience required
• \n
• Experience in material handling, construction equipment, industrial equipment, rental, or a related technical sales environment preferred
• \n
• Proven ability to develop new business and grow existing customer accounts
• \n
• Strong interpersonal, communication, presentation, and organizational skills
• \n
• Mechanical aptitude or technical product knowledge strongly preferred
• \n
• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent relevant sales experience
• \n
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
• \n
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• \n
• Willingness to travel daily throughout the assigned Northern NJ territory
