Position Overview
The Government Account Sales Representative is responsible for driving growth within municipal, city, county, and state government accounts. This role requires experience in public sector sales, a strong understanding of procurement processes, and the ability to build lasting relationships with key decision-makers.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and expand sales within government accounts across Kentucky
- Build relationships with purchasing officers, facility managers, and procurement teams
- Identify and pursue contract opportunities, including bids, RFPs, and RFQs
- Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through contract award and account management
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate and compliant bid submissions
- Maintain a strong pipeline of public sector opportunities
- Conduct site visits, product demos, and solution-based presentations
- Stay current on procurement regulations and cooperative purchasing programs
- Partner with customer service and operations to ensure high customer satisfaction
- Promote company contract offerings in janitorial, office, and washroom supplies
Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years of direct government sales experience
- Proven success working with municipal, county, or state agencies
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes, bid submissions, and contract compliance
- Established relationships with government decision-makers preferred
- Experience in janitorial, facility, or office supply sales is a plus
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout Kentucky
Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related software
- Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities
- Self-motivated with excellent time management and organization
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, and work at a computer for extended periods
- Ability to travel and safely operate a vehicle
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds and perform routine office tasks
