Our client is seeking a driven and relationship-focused Outside Sales Representative to support growth across a multi-state territory. This role is responsible for developing new business opportunities, expanding existing customer relationships, and serving as a trusted resource for customers in industries that rely on critical power and electrical infrastructure solutions.


The ideal candidate will combine strong sales skills with technical aptitude, helping customers identify solutions that support their operational needs while driving revenue growth throughout the assigned territory.



Key Responsibilities

Sales & Customer Relationship Management (60%)

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing customers while identifying and securing new business opportunities.
  • Promote and sell a broad portfolio of power, electrical, energy storage, charging, and service solutions.
  • Conduct customer meetings, product demonstrations, technical presentations, training sessions, and educational events.
  • Prepare proposals, quotations, and solution recommendations tailored to customer requirements.
  • Review project specifications and technical requirements to develop effective solutions.
  • Collaborate with customers and project stakeholders to support specification development and project planning.
  • Deliver a high level of customer service and account support throughout the sales cycle.
  • Manage customer-related agreements and business documentation as needed.
  • Participate in site visits and field activities to strengthen customer relationships and gain project insight.

Account Support & Cross-Functional Coordination (20%)

  • Serve as a liaison between customers and internal teams to ensure expectations are met.
  • Coordinate with operations, service, customer support, and leadership teams regarding project updates, delivery schedules, warranty matters, and customer concerns.
  • Communicate critical customer requirements to ensure successful project execution and customer satisfaction.

Business Development (10%)

  • Develop and execute territory growth strategies.
  • Research market trends, industry developments, and competitive activity.
  • Generate new leads and identify opportunities within existing and emerging markets.
  • Build relationships with key decision-makers across target industries.

Industry Engagement & Marketing Support (5%)

  • Represent the organization at trade shows, conferences, networking events, and industry associations.
  • Support marketing initiatives by providing market intelligence and customer feedback.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and evolving customer needs.

Additional Responsibilities (5%)

  • Maintain accurate records, sales activity updates, expense reporting, and scheduling.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of business-to-business (B2B) sales experience.
  • Experience selling into power systems, electrical infrastructure, utilities, telecommunications, industrial, energy, or related markets preferred.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, power equipment, energy storage technologies, or related technical products.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations is a plus.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute territory growth plans.
  • Strong presentation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage a large territory.
  • Proficient with CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and other business software tools.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout the assigned region.

Territory Coverage

This position supports customers throughout:

  • Coverage areas: Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, New York, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey, Maryland, West Virginia, and Virginia.
