The range listed reflects the entire range and typical placement is entry to mid range.

Pay Range - $15.16/hr - $18/hr

Position Purpose
Ensures driving range golf balls are clean, stocked, and readily available for customer use. Represents the facility professionally as a marshal/starter by managing tee time efficiency and enforcing course rules to enhance the player experience.

Essential Job Functions

MARSHAL/STARTER:  General Statement of Duties:

  • Performs starter duties on tee box.
  • Acts as marshal on course and helps out in any area requested by the supervisor.
  • Starts golfers and checks turn times. 
  • Patrols golf courses to ensure patrons maintain pace of play and follow rules.
  • Stages golf carts as needed.
  • Communicates in a friendly, responsive and professional manner to customers and co-workers.
  • Cleans and maintains exterior restrooms and water stations.
  • Frequently operates a personal or City-owned motor vehicle to drive to and from work locations throughout the City.

  • A valid Colorado driver’s license and acceptable driving record is required.

  • Previous golf course experience preferred.

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.


Physical Demands

  • Moderate to considerable physical effort that includes working from ladders in awkward positions. Frequent use of light or medium weight objects (e.g., 25-50 lbs.) and use of medium weight tools.


Hazards

  • Marginal to moderate exposure to conditions that are unpredictable and may lead to injury.


Work Environment

  • Regular exposure to heat and noise along with working outside in the elements.

The City of Arvada does not offer benefits to temporary and/or seasonal employees.  Temporary, Variable Hour and Health Plan Eligible employees will earn 1 hour of sick leave for every 30 hours worked, up to a maximum cap of 48 hours.
