An Oven Operator is in charge of running through product through the oven, which heat treats the product. This includes checking heat, water, gas and salt levels throughout the day. The operator will load parts into the oven, maintain them throughout the process and unload them. There are also a lot of tools that are used to check quality as well as the use of both forklifts and cranes.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Use of a forklift
• Use of a crane
• Use of tools such as a refractometer and pry bars
• Technologically inclined
• Mechanically inclined decision making
• Strong attention to detail and quality
• Self sufficiency
• Working off-shift

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and understand job documentation
• Physical coordination to lift and move product
• Trainable with fork lift truck
• Ability to handle multiple tasks
• Written and oral communication skills with attention to detail
• Math ability, including conversions (English & Metric units)
• Ability to read, use and understand measuring devices
• Ability to understand machine computer functions
• Trainable with CNC, PLC controls and SPC documentation
• Ability to load material, perform changeovers, and make needed adjustments during production on all oven lines
• Ability to perform quality checks
• Ability to operate a crane and basket transport devices
• Perform minor oven line adjustments and repairs
