Over the Road Driver

Levin Furniture and Mattress is Hiring Over the Road (OTR) Drivers in Smithton, PA! 

Starting Rate at $22.20! 

Essential Duties

1. Performs a pre & post trip inspection of the equipment in accordance with all DOT regulations.
2. Completes the vehicle inspection report daily along with a trip record and log book submitted weekly monthly.
3. Performs the safe operation of all company owned vehicles.
4. Effectively delivers all loads to their destination safely and securely with in compliance with traffic laws. There are times that unloading of the equipment will be required.
5. Maintain all equipment in good working condition in accordance to our Vehicle Safety Policy.
6. Communicates with internal and external personnel in a professional and timely manner.
7. Reports all defects to company equipment by utilizing the VIR and maintenance line to insure proper safety standards are met with the vehicle daily.
8. Completes all necessary paperwork in a neat and timely manner keeps all DOT records in accordance to DOT standards.
9. Other duties as assigned.
10. Must pass driver training.

Required Skills and Abilities:

• Excellent verbal and written communication; listening skills.
• Basic reading and comprehension skills.
• Basic numerical reasoning skills.
• Ability to complete all DOT certified paperwork in a neat and efficient manner in accordance to DOT regulation.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Complete a DOT certified physical which must be renewed every two years unless otherwise indicated by the physician.  Must also meet all Vehicle Safety Policy Standards.
• Must maintain all requirements of keeping a Class A CDL.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience and hold a Class A CDL driver’s license.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, and lift legs of the equipment and cartons weighing approximately 50 - 100 + lbs. repetitively. Ability to operate Class A Certified equipment.

• In truck and Warehouse

Work Schedule:

• Schedule may vary upon business needs and DOT regulated driving restrictions. All DOT regulations and state driving laws must be followed.

Travel Required

• 100% travel required
