    Position Overview:

    Siemens Mobility is growing our locomotive truck overhaul operations in Lexington, NC, and we are excited to expand our team with a new 2nd Shift opportunity. We are seeking Overhaul Technicians to join our locomotive truck overhaul shop, where you will work as part of a skilled, hands-on team supporting critical overhaul work for our TSSSA customers. This role reports to the CS Production Manager and offers the opportunity to contribute directly to the reliability and performance of rail systems that help keep people and goods moving. This is a 2nd Shift position, Monday – Friday 2pm – 10:30pm.

    What your day-to-day will look like:

    • Perform overhaul maintenance on Siemens locomotive trucks, helping the team meet production plans and deliver reliable equipment to our TSSSA customers.
    • Remove, inspect, and fit components in line with Siemens work instructions to support quality, safety, and consistency throughout the overhaul process.
    • Re-profile train wheelsets using a state-of-the-art wheel lathe machine to help restore wheel performance and extend component life.
    • Use pressure washing equipment to pre-clean components, ensuring parts are ready for accurate inspection and efficient workflow.
    • Safely move locomotive trucks using overhead cranes and lifting devices to support smooth production flow and protect team members, equipment, and materials.
    • Partner with the warehouse team to collect spares and materials from stores, helping ensure the right parts are available when needed to keep work moving.
    • Maintain workshop organization and complete additional tasks as directed by management, supervisors, and lead technicians to support a safe, efficient, and high-performing shop environment.

    This posting outlines the primary responsibilities of the role, but is not all-inclusive; additional duties may be assigned in alignment with business needs.

    To thrive in this role, you have:

    • High School Diploma or GED required.
    • 2+ years of relevant experience in a predominantly mechanical environment.
    • Experience accurately documenting work performed, actions taken, and operational details.
    • Strong knowledge of tool control, torque wrenches, measuring equipment, and proper PPE usage.
    • Ability to read, understand, and interpret technical drawings, work instructions, and related publications.
    • Ability to produce clear, detailed technical reports.
    • Strongly demonstrated verbal and written communication skills in English.

    • Ability to lift and/or move items up to 40 pounds is required
