Overhead Crane Operator

Smart Trades is urgently seeking an Overhead Crane Operator. This role is responsible for operating overhead/bridge cranes to lift, move, position, and stage precast concrete products and materials throughout the manufacturing facility. This position requires following established safety procedures and coordinating with production team members during material movement.

Pay Rate: Depending on Experience

Responsibilities:

• Operate overhead/bridge cranes to move precast concrete products and materials.
• Perform pre-use inspections of cranes, hooks, slings, rigging, and related equipment.
• Rig and secure loads according to established procedures.
• Follow hand signals, radio communication, and instructions from spotters.
• Load, unload, position, and stage materials in designated areas.
• Monitor surrounding personnel, equipment, and obstacles during crane operation.
• Follow company safety procedures and applicable workplace safety requirements.
• Assist with production and material-handling duties as assigned.
• Report equipment damage, malfunctions, or safety concerns.
• Maintain assigned work areas.

Qualifications:

• Previous overhead or bridge crane operating experience.
• Knowledge of basic rigging and load-handling procedures.
• Ability to understand crane hand signals and communicate with spotters.
• Ability to safely work around heavy equipment and precast concrete products.
• Ability to perform the physical functions required for the position, including standing, bending, climbing, lifting, and working throughout the scheduled shift.
• Ability to follow written and verbal work and safety instructions.
• Availability to work the assigned schedule and overtime when required.

Relevant Experience: 2+ Overhead crane operation, bridge crane operation, rigging, precast concrete, manufacturing, material handling, construction, or heavy industrial production.
