Position Overview:
We are seeking an Overhead Door Technician responsible for the installation, service, and maintenance of a wide range of commercial systems, including:
- Sectional overhead doors
- Rolling steel doors
- High-speed doors
- Sliding doors and operable partitions
- Dock levelers and gate operators
This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy mechanical work, problem-solving, and working in dynamic job site environments.
What You'll Do
- Install, repair, and maintain commercial overhead door and dock systems
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams
- Operate forklifts, scissor lifts, telehandlers, and other equipment as needed
- Safely load, unload, and transport materials to job sites
- Follow all OSHA and site-specific safety requirements
- Represent Lensing professionally at customer locations
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in mechanical, electrical, or construction trades
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work at heights, outdoors, and in varying weather conditions
- Willingness to work 40+ hours per week, including overtime and occasional weekends
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to obtain required certifications within 60 days:
- OSHA 30 Certification
- ARSC Certification
- "For Hire" endorsement
Preferred Experience:
- Commercial overhead door installation or service experience
- ARC/MIG welding and metal fabrication
- PLC systems (ladder logic)
- Relay logic circuits and 3-phase 480V systems
