History of the Company: Superior Ambulance Service started in 1959 with one ambulance and today is the largest independent, locally owned, and operated emergency medical services provider in the Midwest. Superior employs more than 3,000 licensed EMT, Paramedics and Nurses, operating a fleet of more than 800 ambulances throughout Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, and Wisconsin with over 55 locations. Superior also provides Critical Care, helicopter, and fixed wing emergency medical transportation. EMTs and Paramedics provide safe transportation and quality medical care to sick and injured individuals within the scope of state EMS regulations. Superior provides the highest quality care in emergencies and scheduled medical transports.
The Assistant Dispatcher is responsible for upping calls, answering overflow call volume, assist in overseeing and maintaining the status’ of the gantt, assisting with giving out appropriate ETA’s, triaging ambulance response, and act as support to customer service representatives.

The primary duties and responsibilities of the Dispatcher consist of, but are not limited to the following:
Map reading skills
Problem solving skills
Multi-tasking ability
Effective communication skills
EMD license
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of the position, the employee is required to sit for long periods of time.
Employee will be required to listen to radio traffic/PTT, communicate over the phone as well as monitor and respond to all chat messages, and ability to type is required.
Employee should be able to work under stressful conditions.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of the job, the employee has verbal contact with others and constantly works face to face with and around others and constantly works face to face with and around others.
Consistently uses office equipment such as computer, radios, printers, fax machine, etc.
