Overnight Baker

We are looking for a dependable, motivated, detail oriented, and creative Donut Maker / Baker to join our Highland Park team!

The Baker scales out ingredients, mixes them into a dough, rolls out the dough, cuts the dough into donuts, proofs the donuts, fries the donuts, and finally decorates the donuts. Additionally, the Baker makes sure the kitchen is clean and ready for the next day. This is our kitchen lead most of the time and the person making sure the shift runs smoothly and oversees the other positions in the kitchen such as the fryer and assistant bakers.

Compensation: $25/hr plus tips, medical, dental, vision insurance for full time work.

Responsibilities

• Clean kitchen equipment and tools before use
  
• Weigh flour and other ingredients to prepare dough
  
• Bake different donut types, like raised, bismarks, bullseyes, fritters and cinnamon rolls.
  
• Adjust fryer and proofer temperatures to ensure proper baking
  
• Mix various ingredients to create fillings & glazes.
  
• Decorate donuts with glazes, icings, buttercream and edible toppings.
  
• Shape dough to prepare different types of donuts like fritters and cinnamon rolls.
  
• Prepare custom-made donuts based on customers preferences (e.g. birthday cakes)
  
• Recommend recipes to renew our menu and attract more customers.
  
• Follow production schedules and accurately record production numbers.
  

Skills

• Experience as a Baker, Pastry Chef or similar role
  
• Familiarity with all professional kitchen equipment, including mixers, proof boxes, and fryers.
  
• Understanding of food safety practices
  
• Experience with decoration techniques
  
• Excellent time-management skills
  
• Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment
  
• Team spirit, with a customer-focused attitude
  
• Flexibility to work in early morning shifts
  
• Certification from a culinary school is a plus
  

THIS POSITION STARTS AT MIDNIGHT AND RUNS UNTIL MORNING. IT IS AN OVERNIGHT POSITION.

WORK LOCATION IS 5107 YORK BLVD LOS ANGELES CA 90042. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU ARE COMFORTABLE WITH THE COMMUTE BEFORE APPLYING.
