Job Description
Your Impact as a Licensed Veterinary Technician
Note The Licensed Veterinary Technician title is used in various states based on state-specific licensing and credentialing requirements. Responsibilities may vary depending on the hospital andor state and will be outlined by the states Veterinary Practice Act andor the responsible veterinarian where applicable.
Utilize Your Full Skillset Youll be a vital part of the medical team providing comprehensive patient care including administering treatments monitoring anesthesia and performing lab work.
Be a Leader and Mentor Youll guide and support the medical team ensuring an efficient workflow while mentoring others to help them grow their skills and careers.
Partner with Clients Youll be a key point of contact for pet owners educating them on treatments reviewing medical records and confidently answering their questions.
Contribute to a Positive Culture Youll play an active role in training providing feedback and maintaining the high standards of our hospital environment.
What Youll Bring to the Team
As a member of the ASC family your role will be hands-on meaningful and vital to our mission. Youll be an integral part of saving lives each day through
Patient Care & Procedures Venipuncture catheter placement anesthesia monitoring radiology laboratory work etc.
Surgical Support Assisting in advanced procedures preparing patients and ensuring smooth recoveries
Treatments & Record Keeping Administering treatments and medications to pets filling prescriptions maintaining accurate medical records such as chartstreatment sheets etc.
Client Communication Educating and supporting pet owners with empathy and professionalism
Hospital Support Delivering compassionate care for hospitalized patients
Position Requirements
Veterinary Technician Certification or Licensure CVT RVT LVT or LVMT or the ability to transfer credentials from state to state.
Associates degree in Veterinary Technology 2 years of experience as a Licensed Veterinary Technician preferred
Flexibility to thrive in a fast-paced 24-hour surgical hospital environment
Comfortable with technology surgical procedures and client interactions
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and support patients of all sizes
A team player with strong communication skills and a passion for animals
