Overnight Registered Nurse (RN) , Psychiatric Crisis Services
Annual Salary: $77,487 + $7,500 sign-on bonus
Shift Premium: Additional $2.50/hour for evening, overnight, and weekend hours
Work Hours: 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM, with alternating weekends
The Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board is currently seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our regional crisis stabilization program at The BJ Roberts Behavioral Health Center, in Hampton, VA. This full-time overnight position offers the opportunity to provide essential care to individuals facing acute mental health and co-occurring substance use challenges in a supportive, team-based setting.

The BJ Roberts Behavioral Health Center is designed to serve individuals experiencing acute mental health crises. It offers a range of urgent care services, including therapy, medication management, suicide prevention, and crisis intervention. Unlike traditional emergency rooms, the facility emphasizes a peaceful and therapeutic atmosphere.
As an overnight RN in the crisis stabilization center, you will provide direct nursing care to adults in acute behavioral health crisis. You'll partner closely with the psychiatrist and interdisciplinary team to manage medications, monitor patient status, and support stabilization efforts. Responsibilities include completing comprehensive health assessments, implementing and updating individualized care plans, and ensuring safe and accurate medication administration. You will coordinate medical services such as referrals and follow-up care, respond to urgent situations, and offer crisis intervention and emotional support to both clients and their families.
This role plays a key part in helping individuals regain stability and transition safely to the next level of care.
