About the Role

Our Surgery Ward Nurses are an essential part of the overnight patient care team. In this role, you'll care for post-operative patients, ensuring their comfort and recovery throughout the night. You'll work closely with our surgical nurses, doctors, and assistants, contributing to high-quality care while developing your technical and clinical skills in a fast-paced, supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and document patient vitals and comfort levels
• Administer oral and IV medications as directed by the surgical team
• Assist post-operative patients with mobility and comfort care
• Check catheter sites and bandages for cleanliness and security
• Communicate changes in patient status to the surgical team
• Maintain a clean and organized ward, including laundry and dishes
• Assist with patient restraint for radiographs as needed

Schedule & Location

• Schedule is as follows:

• Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 10:30pm to 7am

• Friday 11pm to 11am

• Weekend and holiday rotation required

• Initial training may occur during day or evening shifts

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience as a veterinary technician or assistant
• Confidence in administering oral and IV medications
• Ability to calculate medication dosages accurately
• Strong communication and time management skills
• A team-oriented mindset with a desire to learn and grow
• Physical ability to lift and restrain pets (up to 50 lbs) and be on your feet throughout the shift
