Schedule: 8 pm - 8 am Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday

Allied Veterinary Emergency Hospital is seeking experienced ICU, Emergency, and Overnight Veterinary Technicians to join our fast-paced, collaborative emergency team. Located in Tallahassee, Florida, we proudly serve the Big Bend region of North Florida, South Georgia, and parts of Southern Alabama, providing emergency and critical care services when pets need us most.

What You’ll Do
ICU Veterinary Technicians
- Manage critically ill and injured hospitalized patients
- Perform diagnostic sampling, testing, and imaging procedures
- Perform venipuncture and catheter placement
- Assist with surgical preparation and procedures
- Monitor and administer treatments to critical patients
- Communicate patient status changes to veterinarians promptly
- Provide daily patient updates to pet owners
- Utilize medical math for accurate medication calculations
- Support and mentor veterinary assistants while assisting with patient care as needed
Emergency Veterinary Technicians
- Triage and stabilize emergency patients
- Recognize and respond appropriately to true emergency situations
- Assist multiple veterinarians with patient stabilization and treatment plans
- Perform venipuncture and diagnostic sample collection
- Calculate medications and treatment protocols accurately
- Assist with treatment plans and financial estimates alongside veterinarians
- Communicate patient updates to clients throughout the hospitalization process
- Assist with surgical preparation and emergency procedures
- Support veterinary assistants and overall hospital workflow
Overnight Veterinary Technicians
- Provide ICU, emergency, and reception support during overnight shifts
- Monitor hospitalized patients and respond to changes in patient condition
- Assist with emergency patient intake, treatment, and client communication
- Support a smaller overnight team while maintaining exceptional patient care
- Perform technical and administrative duties as needed throughout the shift
What Our Veterinary Technicians Bring
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Technician
- Strong technical and patient care skills
- Venipuncture and catheter placement experience
- Excellent communication and client service abilities
- Strong medical math and critical thinking skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced emergency environment
- Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
- Passion for emergency medicine and patient advocacy
