Key Responsibilities
- Operate commercial motor vehicles safely and efficiently across national freight corridors
- Maintain strict compliance with DOT regulations, HOS requirements, and safety protocols
- Complete thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Accurately maintain electronic logs, delivery documentation, and required paperwork
- Communicate proactively with dispatch regarding load status, delays, or issues
- Provide exceptional customer service to shippers and receivers
- Manage fuel efficiency and route optimization to maximize profitability
- Maintain professional appearance and conduct as a representative of our network
- Ensure timely pickup and delivery of freight while adhering to appointment schedules
- Handle load securement according to cargo type and DOT requirements
Requirements & Qualifications
- Valid CDL-A license with clean driving record (minimum 2 years experience preferred)
- Current DOT medical certificate and ability to pass drug screening
- Comprehensive commercial vehicle insurance coverage
- Late model, DOT-compliant tractor and trailer equipment
- Electronic Logging Device (ELD) installed and operational
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical demands of the job
- Strong communication skills and professional demeanor
- Basic computer skills for load management and documentation
- Reliable smartphone for communication and load tracking
- Financial stability to manage business expenses and cash flow
Business Structure
This is a 1099 independent contractor opportunity, meaning you operate as your own business entity. You will be responsible for managing all business expenses including fuel, maintenance, insurance, and taxes.
