Job Description:
Oxford Middle School is seeking a skilled and dedicated Math Teacher to join our academic team for the upcoming 2026-2027 School Year. We are looking for an educator who is committed to fostering student growth within a supportive and collaborative school environment.
Key Responsibilities: (list not all inclusive)
- Teach middle school math courses in alignment with district curriculum and Connecticut standards
- Create a structured and engaging classroom environment that encourages mathematical reasoning, problem solving, and analytical thinking
- Collaborate with colleagues and staff to support student achievement and school initiatives.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding student progress and classroom expectations.
- Complete all required administrative duties, including grading and reporting on student performance.
- Think flexibly and adapt to the specific instructional needs of students
- Collect data to measure impact on instruction and student achievement
- Work in an inclusionary/co-teaching model
Qualifications:
- Valid Connecticut Math (029, 229) certification.
- Experience teaching at the middle school level, preferred.
- Strong, effective communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a professional team environment. Proactive team player.
- Dedication to providing a positive and meaningful learning experience for students.
