Oxy / Fuel and Plasma Burn Table Operator

We are currently seeking experienced oxy/fuel and plasma burn table operators for a hands-on position with a steel fabrication customer in Youngstown, Ohio. This is a great opportunity for someone with solid burn table skills looking to join a dynamic team in a manufacturing environment.

Join a company committed to quality and safety as you set up and operate state-of-the-art burn tables to cut raw materials such as steel plates, structural components, and extrusions. Your work will include inspecting quality assurance processes, writing work instructions, and completing inspection documentation for customers. This role offers a chance to showcase your technical skills in a fast-paced, on-site setting.

Hours:
3rd Shift, 12:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Pay:
$17.00 - $21.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work from verbal instructions, drawings, blueprints, sketches, bills of material, cutting lists, etc.
  • Set up, adjust, and operate multi-Torch, hand torch, and Oxygen-Acetylene flame cutting equipment
  • Use drawings to determine how cuts should be made
  • Perform simple cleaning and maintenance operations on equipment
  • Report abnormal conditions of machinery to supervision
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations
  • Keep work area clean and organized

Minimum Requirements:
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Reliable and dependable
  • 1+ year experience operating programmable oxy/fuel burn tables a plus
  • 1+ year experience operating programmable plasma burn tables a plus
  • Experience reading blueprints is a plus
  • Able to read a tape measure
  • Strong mathematical skills
  • Open to learning company processes
  • Willing to work any shift
  • Ability to follow instructions from supervisor
  • Experience with Burn 10, Edge Pro, or Messer Navigator burn tables is a plus

Nice to Have Skills:
  • CNC knowledge
  • Welding experience
  • Heavy industrial background
  • Steel familiarity
  • Blueprint reading

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Prior experience with programmable burn tables

Other Requirements:
  • Ability to respond quickly to sounds and visual cues
  • Capable of wearing personal protective equipment properly
  • Lift up to 70 lbs as needed
  • Physical ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment
