We're looking for a Protection & Control (P&C) Field Technicians, with experience working on GE Multilin relays to join our fast-growing team supporting high-voltage infrastructure projects across the U.S. In this role, you''ll test, troubleshoot, and commission protection and control relays, pilot channel systems, and substation equipment in commercial, industrial, and utility environments. This is a hands-on position that requires strong technical expertise, independence, and the ability to travel frequently.
What You'll Do:
- Test protection and control relays (electromechanical, solid-state, microprocessor), including voltage/current inputs, SCADA alarms, and calibration
- Troubleshoot and repair substation relaying and control equipment in field environments
- Commission new substations and related systems, including pilot wire, power line carrier, fiber optics, and communication/control systems
- Schedule and complete test activities efficiently and accurately without service interruptions
- Support field service personnel and maintain documentation aligned with client specifications
- Read, interpret, and execute tasks using electrical drawings and wiring schematics
- Follow strict safety and PPE usage protocols due to noise, electrical hazards, and elevated work areas
The Experience We're Looking For:
- 5 years of field experience testing, maintaining, and commissioning power systems up to 500kV
- Familiarity with SCADA, SER, fault data, and automation systems
- Proficient in test equipment, software tools, and wiring techniques
- Ability to interpret electrical diagrams with accuracy
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects
Additional Requirements:
- Flexible for overtime, weekends, holidays, and night work.
- Able to travel frequently (75% with overnight stays as needed)
- Valid driver's license
- Must successfully complete a background check and pre-employment/random drug tests
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
Bonus Points for:
- NETA Level II or higher certification
- Apparatus (electrical MV, LV equipment testing, or NETA testing experience)
- An associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Technology, Power Systems, or Mechanical Engineering
