Copper State Bolt & Nut Co is seeking a Production Welder. You will be responsible for performing welding and fabrication tasks in a manufacturing environment to support production goals. This position requires the ability to read work instructions, follow welding procedures, produce quality welds, and maintain a safe and organized work area. The Production Welder must work efficiently while meeting company quality, safety, and productivity standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform welding operations using approved welding processes, equipment, and procedures.
  • Read and follow blueprints, work orders, drawings, measurements, and production instructions.
  • Set up, operate, and maintain welding machines, hand tools, grinders, fixtures, and related equipment.
  • Inspect completed welds and finished parts for quality, accuracy, and conformance to specifications.
  • Prepare materials for welding by cleaning, grinding, fitting, clamping, and positioning parts as needed.
  • Identify and report defective materials, equipment issues, or nonconforming work to supervision.
  • Complete assigned production tasks in a timely manner while maintaining quality standards.
  • Follow all safety rules, PPE requirements, lockout/tagout procedures, and company policies.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area using 5S and good housekeeping practices.
  • Work cooperatively with production, quality, maintenance, and supervisory personnel.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Previous welding, fabrication, or manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand work instructions, drawings, measurements, and basic welding symbols.
  • Basic math and measurement skills, including the ability to use tape measures, calipers, squares, and gauges.
  • Knowledge of welding safety practices and proper use of personal protective equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, reliability, and commitment to quality workmanship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with MIG, flux-core, or stick welding processes.
  • Experience working in a production, metal fabrication, or industrial manufacturing setting.
  • Familiarity with quality inspection standards and rework procedures.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive motions for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move materials or parts as required by the job.
  • Ability to work around welding equipment, sparks, heat, fumes, noise, and moving machinery while using required PPE.
  • Manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and visual ability necessary to perform welding and inspection tasks.

Work Environment

This position works in a manufacturing or production environment where safety, quality, attendance, and productivity are essential. The employee must follow all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements while supporting production schedules and customer requirements.
