Position: Speech Language Pathologist - Geriatric
Salary Range: $39.50-$44 per hour
Schedule: Full-time (40 hours per week), Monday-Friday with weekend rotation
Job Summary:
As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will work with elderly individuals who have communication and swallowing disorders, helping them to improve their quality of life and maintain their independence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations and assessments of patients' speech, language, and swallowing abilities
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on patients' needs and goals
- Implement evidence-based therapy techniques to improve communication and swallowing function
- Monitor and document patients' progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide the best possible care for patients
- Educate patients and their families on strategies for improving communication and swallowing function
- Stay up-to-date with advancements in the field of speech language pathology and apply new techniques to improve patient outcomes
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Current state license to practice as a Speech Language Pathologist
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)
- Experience working with geriatric patients preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid regulations and documentation requirements
