Responsibilities:

Summary

This position provides administrative and communications support to the department to assist in completing tasks, projects and departmental initiatives as needed. The work involved in this position is typically regarded as confidential in nature.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assists in the drafting and preparation of media statements.
  • Performs comprehensive research on various topics as assigned (i.e. criminal justice issues, legal topics, political research).
  • Handles a wide variety of confidential and time-sensitive situations involving the clerical and administrative functions of the office.
  • Performs data entry and maintenance of computer files.
  • Maintains a variety of manual files and other reports. Retrieves files and other reports as requested by staff.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED certificate.
  • Currently enrolled in a college or university program.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
  • Photography experience preferred.
  • InDesign, Photoshop, and/or Illustrator experience preferred.
  • Experience in video editing (Adobe Premier Pro) preferred.
  • Ability to work with computers and the necessary software applications typically used by the department (Microsoft Suite -Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
