Title: Registered Dietitian - Vassar Dietary department - Poughkeepsie NY - Part time
Summary
The Registered Dietitian demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate nutrition care to all ages of the life span, including neonates, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients served by the Food & Nutrition Department. Assumes responsibility for performing nutrition counseling, completes nutritional assessments, calculates nutrition requirements, completes nutrition-focused physical examinations to identify malnutrition, assesses appropriateness and adequacy of nutrition support, and makes recommendations on nutrition support. Participates in community nutrition programs, functions as a member of the health care team to provide optimal nutrition care to prevent/improve malnutrition rates, enhance wound healing, prevent/improve acute and chronic disease states, symptom management, and overall improve patient care outcomes.
