MOESC is seeking qualified applicants for part time Chapter 226 Nurse in Burlington County, NJ
Salary: $38.75 per hour

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid License as a Registered Nurse issued by the New Jersey State Board of Nursing Required.
- NJ Department of Ed School Nurse Certification Preferred
- Nursing Experience, school setting preferred
- Hold and maintain a valid Driver License with no serious violations or be able to obtain own transportation to various nonpublic school locations
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status, and certified health clearance
REPORTS TO: Special Services Director or Designee
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist nonpublic school medical inspector with medical examination, including dental screening.
- Conduct screening of hearing examinations.
- Conduct vision screenings as per state guidelines.
- Develops and maintains student health records in accordance with current State regulations
- Notifies parents, school administrator and local or county health officials of any student who has not been properly immunized
- Prepare annual reports on the immunization status of pupils in the assigned nonpublic school for State Department of Health.
- Conduct examinations of pupils between the ages of 10 and 18 for the condition known as scoliosis
- Prepare reports as required by Board policy and/or state rules and regulations.
- Report diseases to the local Health Department as per their requirements.
- Maintains and improves professional competence through in-service education activities provided by the Commission and self-selected qualified growth activities.
- Maintain inventory of nursing supplies.
- Provide emergency care as needed to those pupils who are enrolled full time in the nonpublic school who are injured or become ill at school or during participation on a school team or squad.
- Attends and participates in meetings as required.
- Perform all other duties as assigned in order to ensure compliance with Chapter 226, Laws of 1991, Provision of Nursing Services to Nonpublic Schools.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Part-time, hourly based on nonpublic funding designation and nonpublic/public school needs
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the MOESC's Board's policy on evaluation of professional personnel.
