About the Role

The PACE IT Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the organization’s information technology infrastructure, including the cloud-based electronic health record (EHR) system, network systems, digital telephony, and end-user support.

This role ensures the reliable, secure, and efficient operation of all IT systems to support clinical, operational, compliance, and administrative functions. The IT Manager plays a critical role in enabling high-quality, coordinated care delivery while maintaining regulatory compliance and system interoperability.

Key Responsibilities

Pre-Opening Responsibilities

  • Complete training to become a super user of the PACE EHR/IT system.
  • Utilize vendor sandbox environments to gain deep system knowledge across all features and workflows.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the PACE model of care.
  • Collaborate with vendors and leadership to customize, test, troubleshoot, and optimize the EHR/IT system.
  • Design and implement workflows, processes, and system integrations aligned with program operations.
  • Support the development and integration of policies, procedures, documentation, and operational tools within the IT ecosystem.
  • Coordinate procurement, setup, and installation of IT infrastructure and equipment.
  • Plan and oversee IT infrastructure layout, including wiring, network access, and power requirements.
  • Prepare IT systems and infrastructure for state readiness reviews and program launch.
  • Train and onboard staff on EHR/IT systems prior to program opening.
  • Support development of a compliant, user-friendly website and digital platforms.
  • Build and manage an internal intranet using SharePoint, including document libraries, workflows, and communication tools.
Post-Opening Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, devices, and software applications.
  • Administer and support the EHR system, ensuring optimal performance and user adoption.
  • Ensure data security and integrity through firewalls, antivirus systems, access controls, and backups.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable regulations, including HIPAA and CMS/DHCS requirements.
  • Provide timely technical support to on-site and remote staff.
  • Lead IT projects, including upgrades, implementations, and system enhancements.
  • Develop and manage the annual IT budget, including vendor and procurement strategy.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to identify and implement technology solutions that improve care and efficiency.
  • Manage third-party vendor relationships and service agreements.
  • Maintain and enhance external website and digital platforms to meet regulatory and operational needs.
  • Oversee SharePoint intranet, including content management, workflows, and collaboration tools.
  • Implement cybersecurity best practices, including risk assessments, encryption, MFA, incident response, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Lead ongoing EHR/IT training programs for staff in collaboration with vendors and leadership.
  • Evaluate and implement emerging technologies, including AI tools, to improve system performance and care delivery.
  • Support integration of referral systems and external data sources into the IT infrastructure.
Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

Experience

  • 3–5 years of IT management experience.
  • Experience in a healthcare setting required; PACE or similar long-term care model preferred.

Knowledge

  • Network administration (LAN, WAN, VPN).
  • Healthcare compliance standards, including HIPAA.
  • Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
  • Microsoft Office Suite and enterprise IT systems.
  • Telecommunications and end-user device management.

Skills
