Pachyderm Animal Care Support Tech (Part-time)

The Oklahoma City Zoo is hiring four part-time Animal Care Support Technicians to help keep animal habitats safe, clean, and well maintained. This hands-on position supports our Animal Care teams through exhibit maintenance, area projects, and daily animal husbandry activities.

Most of each workday will be spent cleaning and maintaining animal exhibits, service areas, and equipment. This is physically demanding work performed indoors and outdoors throughout the year, including during extreme summer heat, cold temperatures, rain, snow, and ice. Certification: Must obtain a valid Oklahoma driver's license within thirty (30) days of hire and pass a driver's history check to be eligible to operate Zoo vehicles. Completion of required OKC Zoo Learning Management System training is required within the first six (6) months of employment.

Other: This position is safety sensitive. It is subject to pre-employment and/or periodic background checks and drug testing. Must have the ability to pass annual TB tests. Participate in basic operant conditioning and training activities for assigned animals.

Develop and maintain familiarity with the natural behaviors and life histories of assigned animals.
