Your Role

Akkodis is seeking a Packaged/SaaS Application Engineer for a Contract job with a client in Sunnyvale, CA / San Francisco, CA. The ideal candidate must have extensive experience in Java, Spring Boot, AI, and REST API development, along with a proven track record of designing and delivering enterprise-scale full-stack applications.

Rate Range: $77/hour to $80/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Packaged/SaaS Application Engineer job responsibilities include:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable full-stack applications utilizing Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, REST/gRPC APIs, and React or Angular frameworks.

• Develop and integrate AI-powered solutions, including intelligent assistants, workflow automation, recommendation engines, generative AI capabilities, and agent-based applications.

• Build reusable frameworks, APIs, accelerators, and shared services to improve development efficiency and enterprise scalability.

• Lead end-to-end technical delivery efforts from concept, architecture, and development through testing, deployment, and production support.

• Collaborate with business stakeholders, product teams, architects, and engineering teams to define requirements and drive successful solution adoption.

• Develop proof-of-concepts (POCs) and rapid prototypes to evaluate emerging technologies, AI use cases, and innovation opportunities.

• Drive engineering excellence through automation, AI-assisted development, CI/CD pipelines, observability, testing, performance optimization, and modern DevOps practices.

• Design, develop, and maintain secure and scalable RESTful APIs supporting enterprise business applications.

Desired Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field.

• 12+ years of experience in: Java Development, Full Stack Engineering, Enterprise Application Development, Software Architecture

• Strong expertise in:

• Java, Spring Boot, REST API Development, Microservices Architecture, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Generative AI, Software Engineering.

• Experience with: React, Angular, Grpc, Distributed Systems, Cloud-Native Applications

• Strong understanding of: Application Architecture, API Security, Design Patterns, Scalability & Performance Engineering.

• Experience delivering enterprise-grade AI and software solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with: AI Agents, LLM-Based Applications, Intelligent Automation, Recommendation Engines, Workflow Orchestration.

• Experience supporting large-scale cloud environments and SaaS platforms.

• Knowledge of CI/CD, DevOps, observability, and test automation practices.

• Experience leading architecture reviews, mentoring developers, and driving engineering best practices.

• Relevant cloud, AI, or Java certifications are highly desirable.

Pay Details: $77.00 to $80.00 per hour
