Packaging Production Designer – Global Creative

Location: El Segundo, CA (Hybrid – 2 Days Remote / Week) Pay Rate: Up to $41.70/hr on W2 Duration: 3+ Month Contract (Potential Extension)

We are seeking an experienced Packaging Production Designer to support a globally recognized beauty and cosmetics brand. This role will focus on creating innovative, production-ready packaging solutions while collaborating closely with marketing, product development, and cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Concept, design, and develop packaging and component solutions from initial sketches through final production-ready artwork.
  • Create and maintain production-ready artwork for primary and secondary packaging in accordance with established brand guidelines.
  • Collaborate with marketing, product development, and other cross-functional teams to ensure packaging designs are executable and aligned with business objectives.
  • Manage multiple packaging design projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Organize, maintain, and archive packaging assets, design files, templates, fonts, icons, and related creative materials.
  • Establish and maintain file naming conventions and asset management processes.
  • Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and trend monitoring to identify opportunities for innovation and creative excellence.
  • Partner with vendors and production teams to refine designs and ensure quality, feasibility, and successful execution.
  • Support creative initiatives and contribute fresh ideas that enhance brand presence and product innovation.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proven experience as a Packaging Designer or Packaging Production Designer.
  • Strong understanding of packaging production processes and artwork development.
  • Experience working within established brand guidelines.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the beauty, cosmetics, luxury, or consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry.
  • Experience with market research and product placement advertising.
  • Familiarity with digital marketing, web development, and project management tools.
  • Experience collaborating with external vendors and manufacturing partners.

Technical Skills

  • Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including:
    • Adobe Illustrator
    • Adobe Photoshop
    • Adobe InDesign
  • Proficiency with Figma
  • Experience working with AI-powered creative tools.
  • Strong Mac OS knowledge and basic Mac/PC compatibility troubleshooting skills.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Teams is a plus.
