PGS Worldwide is seeking a Packaging Engineer Associate in Grand Prairie, TX for a one-year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company.

The Packaging Engineer Associate will support Packaging, Handling, Storage, and Transportation activities for program hardware, components, and system-level equipment. This role coordinates packaging and shipping requirements with program teams, suppliers, vendors, customers, and shipping personnel while supporting packaging documentation, hazardous material requirements, Special Packaging Instructions, and shipping process improvements.

Required Skills

  • 1–3 years of experience supporting packaging, handling, storage, transportation, or shipping activities for program hardware, components, or system-level equipment.
  • Experience coordinating packaging and shipping requirements with cross-functional teams, including program teams, suppliers, vendors, customers, and shipping departments.
  • Experience supporting compliance with transportation, packaging, and hazardous material shipping requirements, including DOT 49 CFR or related regulatory guidance.
  • Experience developing, reviewing, or maintaining Special Packaging Instructions, packaging documentation, shipping paperwork, or technical support data.
  • Experience supporting hazardous material identification, handling, labeling, marking, packaging, inventory, or shipment activities using SDS/MSDS information and applicable procedures.
  • Microsoft Office experience, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to support technical documentation, root cause analysis, process improvement, and corrective action related to damaged shipments or packaging issues.
  • Ability to work onsite, support overtime as needed, and travel occasionally.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work well in a team environment.
  • High attention to detail and ability to follow applicable procedures.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with Performance Oriented Packaging requirements.
  • Familiarity with Department of Transportation hazardous material regulations.
  • Familiarity with commercial, military, or customer-specific packaging standards.
  • Familiarity with Product Data Management systems, MCAD tools, CREO, Pro/E, or similar systems.
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, manufacturing, logistics, sustainment, depot operations, or another regulated technical environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Coordinate packaging and shipping requirements across program teams, suppliers, vendors, customers, and shipping personnel.
  • Assist with system, subsystem, and component packaging and transportation requirements.
  • Create and maintain Special Packaging Instructions as needed.
  • Support compliance with contractual packaging requirements, hazardous material shipping requirements, and applicable transportation regulations.
  • Coordinate shipping requests through the Shipping Department and Packaging, Handling, Storage, and Transportation team.
  • Support Packaging Data Content products and services.
  • Participate in packaging design reviews and help resolve program packaging questions.
  • Support root cause analysis for damaged shipments and packaging issues.
  • Help evaluate packaging process improvements to improve shipping performance.

Pay

  • $27.45/hour
