BS degree in Package Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Engineering sciences.
4+ years of packaging engineering experience.
Consumer Goods Packaging experience.
Packaging Commercialization experience is a must (turning packaging ideas into something that can actually be produced, shipped, sold, and used by customers. Must be able to work with marketing and procurement to take regulations and specs to develop packaging and get packaging out to market.).
Ideal experience would include some of the following areas:
Primary through tertiary packaging development for new product launches.
Coordination and completion of qualification for new package designs and materials.
Development of component specifications.
Working knowledge of different packaging materials / converting methods:
Corrugated containers.
Folding cartons (solid fiberboard).
Plastic bottles.
Flexible Packaging.
Thermoformed Packaging.
Injection Molding.
Six Sigma training or Green Belt certification.
