Our next Full-Time Packaging Lead will be responsible for the Packaging of manufactured cannabis products for customer consumption. As a Packaging Lead, you will report to the Lab Manager and lead a team of Packaging Associates in a coordinated effort to provide safe and effective medicine for consumers in adherence with TerrAscend standards of quality and state rules and regulations.

To Be Blunt

You will be challenged to work tactically to ensure complete and on-time execution of production schedules. One minute you will be accurately filling out all associated logs and tracking records. The next minute you will be preparing the room for opening and/or closing of each shift. And the next minute, ensuring team members are completing SPCs and logging weights appropriately. Regardless of the task, its critical you have strong situational awareness and EQ as youll work within a diverse team in the organization.

This position will be on-site at our Boonton, NJ facility.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Adhere to the daily production schedule to ensure attainment of efficiency goals. Verify that all applicable working areas, tools, and processing equipment are maintained and in good working order prior to the start of each shift or batch. Clean and sanitize glassware, transfer materials, storage vessels, tools, equipment, and working surfaces. Produce reliable and precise data for completion of all required batch equipment quality inventory and state mandated seed-to-sale documentation. Accurately fill out all associated logs and tracking records. Perform processes with strict attention to quality, safety, and regulatory compliance requirements. Responsible for assisting in the managers to steer the team members through each shift. Prepare room for opening and closing of each shift. Keep equipment in good working condition. Contribute to continuous improvement of TerrAscend processes. Ensure the safety of themselves and others by maintaining a safe and orderly workspace. Other duties in the packaging department or other departments as required. Ensure team members are present in the room and redirect to the task at hand when necessary. Notify the Lab Manager of poor performance behavior and deviations from SOP. Ensure team members are completing SPCs and logging weights appropriately. Maintain a Safe and Productive Work Environment for all Individuals

Qualifications and Experience

Production, manufacturing, and supervisory experience is a plus. Positive attitude & Self-motivated. Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment. Able to push, pull, or lift a minimum of 50 lbs. Ability to pass a state and federal background check. Capable of sitting, standing, kneeling, bending, squatting, and/or walking for extended periods of time.

Environmental Factors

This position requires working in an environment that has a high amount of plant matter and pollen. Areas of the facility reach high-low temperatures with high humidity levels. Employees may have exposure to conditions such as dust, plant matter, and particles that affect the respiratory system, eyes, or skin, depending on department job assignments. Employees are required to wear protective gear and have the option to wear eye and ear protection. Certain areas of the facility use harsh chemicals for cleaning, such as bleach, and have repetitive movements. Employees should be comfortable and capable of working under all of the above conditions.

Physical Requirements

  • Able to push, pull, lift, or move a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Capable of sitting, standing, kneeling, bending, squatting, and/or walking for extended periods of time.
  • Capable of using hands and fingers to touch, handle, feel, and pick.
  • Ability to work with hazardous chemicals, butane, propane, etc., following strict safety guidelines.
  • Utilize chemicals such as bleach to clean and maintain facility equipment.
  • Must wear PPE clothing, protection, close-toed non-slip shoes, and optional ear and eye protection.

Background Check Requirement
