Production Operator II

Production Operator II is responsible for carrying out, daily, all direct and indirect activities performed in the packaging area for duties assigned to them without constant supervision. This position will be responsible for packaging individual units in boxes, labelling, accountability of materials, printing labels, autoclaving items for Aseptic Processing Area (APA) and completion of batch records for the shop orders with highest level of accuracy.

Additionally, Operator II Packaging is responsible for all processes that occur inside the APA including filling product under aseptic conditions, environmental monitoring activities and cleaning process in APA.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute the filling and lyophilization of products in APA.
  • Assures all packaging materials are available and processed (sterilized) as needed for future runs.
  • Completes the environmental monitoring of the aseptic area, viable and nonviable, as required through procedures.
  • Verifies the cleanliness and sanitization standards for the aseptic room and assures the process is carried out in an acceptable manner.
  • Assure the batch record and other documentation are completed according to cGMP requirements and our local procedures.
  • Make quality judgments during production.
  • Troubleshoot equipment faults and errors, make ongoing corrections as needed during production.
  • Label printing, crimp/label units using equipment and pack/label individual units.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to lift 30 pounds repeatedly.
  • Ability to don clean room garments and meet all requirements of APA.
  • Ability to stand for long periods (up to 6-8 hours).

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum one year of experience in filling, packaging and labelling individual units. Responsibility in an aseptic processing suite, including direct production responsibilities is preferred.
  • Experience in an FDA regulated production environment is desired.
  • Understanding of clean rooms including classifications, clean room parameters, gowning, personnel movements, contamination control, disinfection, and cleaning.
  • Minimum high school education required, associate degree preferred.
  • Must be proficient in use of personal computers and MS Office software.
