Summary:
This position is responsible for packaging products into correct materials either on the machine or by hand; moving to stacking position, bagging, sealer, and other workstations as workload requires.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Know the proper packaging procedure for each product; read and follow Bills of Materials; complete paperwork as required.
- Operate all packaging machines; perform hand pack procedures as assigned by supervisor or utility; re-batch product as needed.
- Inspect products for defects during the packaging process; verify accuracy of labels and packaged product; create accurate labels using computer and handheld scanners.
- Process product through the taper and stacking section as needed.
- Maintain a clean, neat, and organized work area.
- Be actively involved in proactive measures towards safety for self and co-workers.
- Other job activities as assigned.
Essential Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and work instruction or procedure manuals
- Math skills used add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals and to compute rate, ratio, and percentage
- Critical thinking skills necessary to solve practical problems
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to meet job expectations and duty changes as required by changing company needs

- Pallet jack, box knife, computer
