    Join a team that blends craftsmanship with precision. As a Packaging Plastics Production Technician, you will be the steward of reliable output, consistent quality, and safe operations across molding and finishing lines.

    Your mission

    • Launch and fine-tune production lines, confirming correct machine set points throughout each run.
    • Operate and coordinate across extrusion blow molding, extrusion, injection molding, injection blow molding, labeling, pad printing, and silk-screening processes.
    • Safeguard uptime by cleaning filters, performing light maintenance, and supervising purge activities.
    • Validate materials: sleeves, boxes, labels, and components are correct for each SKU/part number.
    • Champion in-process quality—sample, measure, and verify against specifications; act quickly on any nonconformance.
    • Adjust equipment to resolve issues; communicate required repairs to supervision and execute restarts post-service.
    • Capture complete documentation on issues, causes, and corrective actions; log production and quality data and formally close production runs.
    • Model workplace standards for cleanliness and order; uphold safety, food safety, and food quality requirements.
    • Mentor and support peers by assisting with training and providing break/lunch coverage.
    • Contribute to special initiatives and other relevant tasks as needed.

    Impact areas beyond the core

    • Build cartons, pack finished goods, and conduct product tests when needed.
    • Apply labels to products as required.

    Team structure

    This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports.

    Experience and capabilities

    • Education: High school diploma/equivalent with mechanical aptitude; technical background in packaging, plastics, and printing equipment.
    • Experience: 1–3 years operating equipment in a plastics/packaging manufacturing environment.
    • Competencies:
      • Communication: Basic reading, writing, and speaking.
      • Quantitative: Arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and trigonometry; able to compute fractions, percentages, ratios/proportions, variables, and formulas.
      • Analytical: Apply logical reasoning to practical problems with multiple variables; interpret instructions delivered in written, oral, diagram, or schedule formats.
      • Technology: Basic to intermediate computer proficiency; exposure to CNC machinery.

    Equipment and instruments

    Mechanics tools, calipers, gauges, scales; extrusion blow molders, extrusion machines, injection molders, injection blow molders, lining machines, labelers, pad printers, and silk-screen systems.

    Credentials

    No certifications required; a fork truck license may be requested.

    Physical realities of the role

    • Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, moving, talking, hearing, pushing, carrying, reaching, and grasping.
    • Sustained mental/visual attention with manual coordination; periods of concentrated effort.
    • Visual needs include near/far clarity, sharp focus, depth and spatial judgment, and color identification.
    • Workload: light to medium, with up to 50 lbs of force exerted continuously and up to 50 lbs frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or move materials.

    Environmental conditions

    Operate near moving mechanical parts; experience noise, dust, elevated temperatures, equipment heat, hot water, hot plastics, and heater bands.

    PPE such as hair net, safety glasses, earplugs, and gloves may be required.
