SUMMARY
The Packaging / Shipping Operator is responsible for loading outgoing cheese onto trucks, shipping information and manifests. This person would also be responsible for inspecting and receiving items, maintaining supply inventories, and maintaining the equipment and work area in a clean, organized manner. This team member will need to work well with the other shipping team members and organize the workload so that tasks are completed in a timely manner. This position works 4am to 4pm on a 2/2/3 schedule.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalency (GED)
Experience in a manufacturing setting or shipping department, preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS
Forklift Certification (will train and certify internally)

While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to stand, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The Team Member frequently is required to walk and talk or hear. The Team Member is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The Team Member must frequently lift and/or move 40# blocks of cheese. The Team Member may also carry chemical containers weighing up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is often exposed to extreme, non-weather related heat, wet and/or humid conditions as well as occasional exposure to outside weather. The Team Member occasionally works with and around hazards such as moving mechanical parts, Power Industrial Vehicles like forklifts along with toxic and/or caustic chemicals. The Team Member will also occasionally work in confined or restrictive areas. Due to the usually loud noise levels, ear protection may be required.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED
While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member may be required to work with motorized pallet trucks, elevators, calculator, scanners, and printers/labelers.
PPE’s REQUIRED
Personal protective equipment that is required when working with hazardous materials or loud equipment includes: safety goggles, chemical resistant gloves, and hearing protection. Other recommended PPE includes: face shield, chemical resistant apron, coat and steel toe boots.
