We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Packaging Specialist to join a leading manufacturing team on 2nd shift (M-Th, 1: 30pm-12: 00am). This position plays a critical role in preparing finished products for shipment, receiving raw materials, staging upcoming production orders, and supporting machine operators throughout the production process.

The ideal candidate enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, is detail-oriented, and is willing to learn multiple production functions. This position offers opportunities for cross-training and career growth within the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Package, handle, and protect finished and raw materials.
  • Prepare outbound finished goods for shipment to customers.
  • Load and unload incoming and outgoing materials.
  • Assist with shipping and receiving activities.
  • Stage materials for upcoming production orders.
  • Assist machine operators with setup and production preparation.
  • Support slitting machine operations by helping operators perform production tasks according to customer specifications and work orders.
  • Move materials from production areas to packaging and shipping departments.
  • Return raw materials and inventory to designated storage locations.
  • Complete work order paperwork and production documentation accurately and thoroughly.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards.
  • Participate in cross-training opportunities to learn other production functions and processes.
  • Perform additional duties and assignments as directed by management.
Qualifications Required
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to read a tape measure accurately.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Ability to read and understand work orders, specifications, and written instructions.
  • Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to perform a variety of tasks throughout the day.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to different production functions.
Preferred
  • Previous manufacturing or production experience.
  • Tow motor (forklift) operating experience.
  • Forklift certification.
  • Experience with shipping, receiving, packaging, or warehouse operations.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Experience using measuring devices such as:
    • Rulers
    • Calipers
    • Dial indicators
    • Micrometers
    • Scales
Physical Requirements
The physical demands described are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
  • Regularly stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach.
  • Use hands and manual dexterity to handle materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Frequently lift and move materials up to 50 pounds.
  • Occasionally lift or move objects exceeding 100 pounds with assistance.
  • Work around moving machinery and production equipment.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Possess close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Work in environments with varying temperatures, noise levels, and other manufacturing conditions.
  • Maintain alertness and situational awareness to ensure a safe work environment for yourself and coworkers.
