    Packaging Supervisor (Night Shift)

    Schedule: Mon–Wed OR Thu–Sat (5:00 PM – 5:30 AM | 12-Hour Shift)

    Position Summary

    PrideStaff is seeking a motivated, hands-on Packaging Supervisor to oversee night-shift packaging operations for a premier beverage production facility in Bend, Oregon. Leading a team of Packaging Operators, this role ensures daily production targets, product quality standards, and safety protocols are strictly met across lines.This is a supervisory role focused on active floor leadership, workflow execution, real-time troubleshooting, and team coaching.

    Responsibilities

    • Assign shift tasks, deploy ~10 operators across bottling, canning, and kegging lines, and adjust floor coverage to maintain optimal line speed and efficiency.

    • Train new operators on Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and equipment setup; provide continuous on-the-floor feedback and mentoring.

    • Conduct start-of-shift briefings (safety topics, production goals) and complete smooth shift hand-offs with incoming/outgoing supervisors.

    • Regularly inspect packaging lines (labeling, capping, fill levels, sealing) and verify operators are completing hourly quality logs accurately.

    • Assist operators in diagnosing line slowdowns, clearing complex machine jams, and minimizing downtime during product changeovers.

    • Serve as the immediate point of contact for frontline operational bottlenecks, equipment faults, or safety concerns during the night shift.

    • Lead by example and strictly enforce all Food Safety, Sanitation, OSHA, and general facility safety guidelines, ensuring proper PPE usage.

    • Supervise end-of-run and daily intensive chemical cleaning procedures (CIP/COP), ensuring lines are sanitized according to hygiene standards.

    Qualifications

    • 2+ years of experience in packaging, bottling, canning, or food/beverage manufacturing, with demonstrated informal or formal leadership experience (e.g., Lead Operator, Shift Lead, or Supervisor).

    • Proven ability to delegate tasks, keep a team of ~10 motivated during 12-hour night shifts, and handle on-the-floor conflict or operational hurdles calmly.

    • Strong working knowledge of packaging line machinery, changeovers, trouble-shooting, and beverage manufacturing safety protocols (GMPs).

    • Ability to write daily shift summaries, maintain clear logbooks, and effectively communicate across departments and shifts.

    • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move actively across a loud, fast-paced production floor for the full 12-hour shift; comfortable working around chemical cleaning agents with required PPE.
