Sunroof Express is in search of a full-time Packaging Technician to join our team in Troy, Michigan! In this role, you will play a key role in maintaining the quality and integrity of the final product while meeting shipping requirements. The Packaging Technician is responsible for safely and accurately packaging both new and reconditioned automotive parts for transport, ensuring proper organization for storage, and preparing freight packages. This includes assembling the correct box, inserting protective materials such as foam inserts and Instapak, sealing the package, and ensuring the packaging meets freight shipping standards. Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• 8AM – 5PM

The right candidate will have:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous experience in packaging, shipping, or warehouse environment is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standardized procedures
• Ability to work with hands and perform physical tasks (lifting up to 50 lbs., bending, standing)
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a fast-paced team environment
• Basic understanding of measurement and material handling
• Must reside in Michigan and be available to work from our Troy, Michigan office

Our Packaging Technician will:

• Prepare and assemble packaging materials (boxes, foam inserts, packing paper, Instapak, etc.) based on part type and size
• Use measuring tables to determine the correct box and padding for each part
• Pack parts using specified foam and insert combinations to prevent damage during transport
• Build cushions and protective materials for freight packages to ensure secure shipping
• Seal and stack packaged parts safely onto pallets for internal movement
• Handle oversized parts with custom procedures, including lid construction and foam setting
• Package freight orders according to freight standards and guidelines
• Label and prepare freight shipments for transportation
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of packaging materials and work area
• Coordinate with team members to maintain steady workflow and meet daily production targets
