Apply today!Your day as a Utility Operator As a new Utility Operator at Barrett Petfood, you'll start your day at 10:00 PM and work until 6:30 AM, Monday through Friday. Your daily responsibilities will include monitoring equipment and processes to ensure smooth operations, as well as conducting routine quality tasks that uphold safety and quality standards. You can expect to collaborate closely with team members to identify and solve problems, contributing to our customer-centric mission. Each day will involve adhering to safety protocols and maintaining a clean workspace, as safety is a top priority at Barrett Petfood.Additionally, you will engage in continuous learning, gaining insights into innovative practices and processes that enhance production efficiency. Embrace the excitement of contributing to a high-performance team while ensuring a positive experience for our customers and their pets.Day to day responsibilities Help with the set up on all lines and coach operators on how to set packaging line to machine centerlines and confirm setup is set to the correct product Support and improve the centerline and troubleshooting processesAssist Process Engineer with product development when neededAssist Manager and/or Supervisor with department needsIdentify and investigate issues and report to the supervisor for needed supportDrive quality through monitoring and validating that the product is within standards, checking paperwork, and ensuring the product is correctConduct & record metal, weight, seals, and lot code checks. Verify cleans are accurate by assigning duties to others on the line, filling out quality documents, and ensuring it is completed in a timely mannerCommunicate with material handlers on upcoming jobs so it is an easy transitionCommunicate packaging needs with packaging Supervisor as necessaryNotify Packaging Supervisor of any Safety, Quality, or Production escalation issuesSupport troubleshooting of equipment to ensure that daily throughput requirements are metNotify maintenance if the packaging line breaksPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSProlonged periods of standing and walking through the factory.Ability to safely climb and descend stairs and ladders as required to perform essential job functions.Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times.What you need to be successfulTo thrive as a Utility Operator at Barrett Petfood, you will need a strong set of skills that align with our core values.
